| It was a desire for a mid-life career change that spurred
schoolteacher Lucy Montz from Warsaw, Kentucky to attend the Cincinnati
College of Dental Surgery, where she graduated with honors in 1889. Her
talents were so impressive, Montz was urged to stay on at the school as
a faculty member. By 1893, she returned to her hometown of Warsaw and set
up a dentistry practice. making her the first female dentist in our state. |
