Kate Seston Matthews from New Albany, Indiana became one of the early photo-doucmentarians. Her photographs of the late 19th century, captured the simple, elegance of her life, and were published in many major magazines including: The Ladies Home Journal, Cosmopolitan, Vogue, and Good Housekeeping. "Miss Kate" as she was known began taking pictures in 1886, her career spanned nearly seventy years.
